The proposed changes would transfer 10 subdivision densities from 119 Payne Road to 104 Narvaez Bay Road, where the bylaws would permit a maximum of 12 new lots on the newly created Rural General-zoned portion; the location of any lots would be decided at subdivision. [1]
At its Dec. 14 special meeting, the Saturna Island Local Trust Committee gave second and third readings to proposed Bylaws 136 and 137. [1]
The committee also voted to forward both bylaws to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for approval, and to send Bylaw 136 to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for approval. [1]
During the meeting, a member of the public asked whether there would be 12 additional lots in total and where they would be located; planner Brad Smith said the location would be decided at subdivision, while applicant Barry Crooks said subdivision was not being considered at that time. [1]
