The Saturna Island Local Trust Committee directed staff to prepare draft bylaws for Option 3 of a rezoning application, which would change a portion of land from Forest General to Rural General and transfer 10 subdivision densities to that portion, allowing a maximum of 12 new lots. The committee also endorsed the application’s stated benefits for environmental protection and continuous forests.[1]

The committee’s direction followed a staff report recommending Option 3. The minutes say the application would transfer 10 subdivision densities from land at 119 Payne Road to land at 104 Narvaez Bay Road, and that the committee carried the motion to proceed with the application and prepare draft bylaws.[1]

The committee scheduled a special meeting for November 3, 2022, and a public hearing for December 14, 2022, for the application.[1]
