The proposed amendments to Saturna’s official community plan and land-use bylaw will proceed to a public hearing and community information meeting after agency and First Nations referrals are completed, following decisions by the Saturna Island Local Trust Committee on Feb. 17, 2022.[1]

The committee gave first reading to Bylaw No. 133, amending the Saturna Island Official Community Plan, and Bylaw No. 134, amending the Saturna Island Land Use Bylaw.[1]

The committee also determined that the proposed bylaws are not contrary to or at variance with the Islands Trust Policy Statement.[1]

The minutes record that the committee directed staff to schedule the public hearing after the referrals and to hold a community information meeting in conjunction with the hearing.[1]
