The Saturna Island Local Trust Committee endorsed a project charter for minor land-use bylaw amendments and directed staff to begin the project, with a planner expected to return with more details on proposed changes.[1]
During discussion, trustees raised possible changes involving trailers, recreational vehicles and tiny homes, including clarifying definitions and considering septic-system requirements; staff said those topics could be added to the list of potential amendments for the committee to consider at a later meeting.[1]
The staff report described the project as minor, with a small budget for fixed costs including a public hearing and consultation expenses, and a goal of completion before the end of the term.[1]
The committee also agreed that three official community plan bylaws would be adopted by resolution without meeting after the minister’s approval was received.[1]
