Saturna committee advances waterfront rezoning bylaw
The committee gave Bylaw 138 second and third readings and sent it to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for approval.

The proposed bylaw would rezone the waterfront portion of a parcel to rural general, allowing two waterfront-zoned lots to be created through subdivision; the next step is Executive Committee approval, followed by adoption by the local committee if approval is granted.[1]
The Saturna Island Local Trust Committee gave Bylaw 138 second and third readings at its July 27 meeting, then directed that it be forwarded to the Islands Trust Secretary for Executive approval.[1]
At the meeting’s town hall, members of the public spoke in support of the proposed bylaw, and the minutes record further support during the community information meeting.[1]
The committee also directed staff to prepare draft land-use and Official Community Plan amendments for a separate application, SA-RZ-2023.2, and directed the applicant to submit an additional $1,100 for the Official Community Plan amendment.[1]
